Terry's Turkey Chili, So Easy My Hubby Can Make it


This week has been the perfect week for Chili.  I hope you enjoy this recipe!!! ( and possibly a few snow days) 

Disclaimer:  My recipes are geared toward people who have basic cooking skills.  Some of my measurements are guesstimates and sometimes my instructions may be missing a step or two. Please use this recipe as inspiration, but do not feel obligated to follow it verbatim.  If you find something works out better, please leave it in the comment section.



Ingredients
1 can dark red kidney beans
1 can chickpeas
1 can of small red beans
2 lbs lean (you can also use extra lean but it taste pretty bland )ground turkey
1 large sweet onion
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 can (15oz)roasted diced tomatoes with basil
1 can (28oz) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons chili powder (or more if you like you it spicy)
2 tablespoons of  cayenne pepper (or more if you like it spicy)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
2 packets of Sazon Goza con Cilantro Y Tomate ( this stuff makes everything taste good)
Seasoning for ground turkey -approximately 1 teaspoon of each (maybe more..maybe less)
(it is all about creating a yummy base. I make sure my meat is seasoned before adding it to any dish)
rosemary
black pepper
kosher salt
italian seasoning
minced garlic



Directions
1. Heat oil in pan over medium heat.
2. Add bell peppers and onions to the pan.
3. Once veggies begin to soften, add ground turkey, seasoning and Sazon, cook until brown; drain.
4. Add turkey and remaining ingredients to slow cooker; cook for 4-6 hours.
5. Top finished product with cheese and greek yogurt.

  1. I love using Greek yogurt in place of sour cream! and my hubby totally likes it too!!
